“Once
in a long while a book comes along that has the capacity to turn
the page on what we thought of as ‘reality.’
The Reality of
Time is such a book, a deeply original work on the nature
and practice of time. To read this work is to experience
something of the inspiration that the author, Janet Sussman,
must have felt in its composition. It is more in the nature of a
revelation: the categories of time are stretched by the tensions
of eternity. One's mind is quickened by concepts so new and yet
so strangely familiar. One thinks, ‘somewhere in a time before
time, I knew that.’
“It
is not a facile read. One
enters into a dimension that transcends the usual language, the
cadences of ordinary thought. But the effort yields
extraordinary treasures. One is introduced to a reality larger
than one's aspiration, more potent than all one's dreams.”

“Janet
Sussman has written two deeply intuitive, highly metaphorical,
and overwhelmingly intellectual descriptions of what I believe
is the nature of time. She relates time to a sacred dimension of
existence that few of us have access to. She has made the brave
attempt to describe the indescribable as
St. Augustine
once realized. However, readers should be prepared to use their
thinking caps when reading this.”

“Janet Sussman possesses an uncanny grasp of a broad
range of important concepts of science and metaphysics, as well
as an unsurpassed command of the tools of the English language.
The rich tapestry of structure and content that she has crafted
in The Reality of Time
reflects her vast experience in meditative practices,
introspection, self-observation, and analysis. She also
possesses the unique innate ability to articulate her ideas. In
this book she has managed to produce a supreme, mind-altering
exposition of the important concepts of time and
consciousness.”

Janet Iris Sussman
is part spiritual philosopher, part intuitive scientist, and
part accomplished writer. In addition, she is a spiritual
counselor, a healer, and a recorded musician! Sussman has
written an in-depth, interdimensional look at the nature of
time. Readers must abandon their egos and all cherished
reference points to truly partake of the wealth of information
and understanding Sussman offers. She expounds on many concepts
that will help readers understand and realize an awareness based
outside of typical concepts of time. Topics include the
structure of time, the perception of time, and cosmic time.
Sussman describes
time as the circuitous purveyor of information to the body about
the nature of its reality. Time creates a front so reality can
have a point of view, she writes. The evolution of consciousness
and time requires changes in mind, perception, awareness, and
body, all of which are involved during an ascension-like
transformation of a person’s energetic being from a
self-conscious orientation to one that perceives from a wider,
more elevated framework. Although the ideas presented are novel
and complex, adventurous readers can read any one of the
book’s hundreds of short sections and feel satisfied with the
information it offers. A glossary and an index for
cross-referencing complete the 349-page volume.
The cover is
subtle yet intriguing. The Reality of Time will be of
great interest to people with moderate as well as advanced
background in metaphysics, new science, meditation, or
transpersonal psychology. Sussman also authored Timeshift:
The Experience of Dimensional Change, a preliminary work
that can be displayed with The Reality of Time.
